Sport Testimonials
Richie Ewan, Course Manager, Nairn Golf Club
"We have used Barenbrug’s Ultrafine 100 mix for a few years now, the ryegrass blend offers high wear tolerance when tightly mown, but still fits in aesthetically on a links course. The product has really helped maintain a consistent grass flow around the course, mainly used on walkways and high traffic pinch-points and it does a fantastic job".
Scott Weale, Course Manager, Tandridge Golf Club
"Here at Tandridge, we’ve been overseeding our fairways with Ultrafine 100 for a few years now. The three stand-out ryegrass cultivars offer our members and visitors, tightly mown playing surfaces with a high wear tolerance and expectational visual and dense appearance".
Steve Robinson, Moortown Golf Club
"We have been using the Ultrafine 60 on our tees for a while now. With modern levels of play, we find the element of ryegrass in the mix gives fantastic recovery and resilience without any drop in performance."
Russell Abernethy, Course Manager, Coombe Hill Golf Club
"Over the last 8 years at Coombe Hill Golf Club. I have always elected to use Barenbrug’s seed range. From All Bent on greens to RPR Golf on new root-zone drain lines. However, the biggest success has been from the use of Ultrafine 60. As products are removed that once protected fine turf areas from biotic stress, my only option was to completely over seed rough, semi-rough, fairways and approaches (which are at 4mm). Perennial ryegrass has changed dramatically over the years, The Barolympic and Barprium cultivars in Ultrafine 60 produce such a fine leaf, which makes boxing off clipping from fairways much easier. Nitrogen inputs are down and colour retention is up. Barenburg’s seed range helps me produce fine playing surfaces that are required from a prestigious golf club."
Robert Barrett, Course Manager, Minehead & West Somerset Golf Club
"We have been transiting our greens to fescue for around 8 years now. Being a links golf course, we wanted to use a fescue species that was resilient to a high salt environment whilst creating a dense and nitrogen-efficient playing surface. Shoreline with its mixture of slenders has helped us progress to a fescue dominant sward."
