Ultrafine Range Gives Hesketh Uniform Grass Cover

Hesketh is the oldest golf club in Southport, established in 1885. The course is predominantly links in nature and Championship golf has been played at Hesketh from the early days.

The course, situated at the Northern end of the Merseyside sand dune system, presents a challenge to golfers of all standards. Whilst predominantly a links course, changes over recent years have led to the course now having a slightly more diverse landscape for seaside golf.

Ultrafine Range

"When selecting our seed for the 2022 season we chose Barenbrug. We needed a seed that would not only perform throughout the year but also keep good cover and establish quickly on our par 3 tees and practice area. Following consultation with our local distributor, we chose the Ultrafine range. Working from 30% to pure rye we have succeeded with uniform grass cover whilst still maintaining the linksy feel to the surface. This seed has also been extended to pathways and other heavy traffic areas giving fantastic results. I believe we will continue to use this seed across the course for years to come."
