Baradona is a perennial ryegrass from Barenbrug’s European turf breeding programme. The variety is primarily bred for winter sports wear tolerance but also has density and fineness of leaf applicable to summer sports. Baradona exhibited exceptional ability to tolerate and recover from extreme wear in cricket squares in Barenbrug trials run at Loughborough University.

Baradona is a standout ryegrass for all-round performance with a very fast establishment, germinates at low temperatures and offers outstanding all-round shoot density, and aesthetics. With a mean score of 7.5 in Table L1 and 7.4 in Table S1 in the BSPB/STRI Turfgrass Seed 2022 booklet – nothing else is ranked as high in both tables.
