  • Kale gives a winter hardy canopy, much loved by pheasants

WHY USE GAME COVER

  • Bird habitats can vary from entirely feed to totally cover, from single year crops to semi permanent grass based covers, offer feed, cover or both 
  • Game cover crops provide a wide range provide habitat for game and farmland birds

 

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

It may be advisable to have your soil analysed and ask one of our specialists to visit your shoot. To encourage wild UK birds it’s best to consider a broad range of seed bearing crops.


Establishing a mix takes time and but it’s worth the effort. Ask the farmer/landowner about fertilizers, previous crops and soil types.


Use farmyard manure wherever possible – especially on set-aside land.
